PROSECUTOR-GENERAL, HON. LOYCE MATANDA-MOYO

Hon. Loyce Matanda-Moyo stands as a towering figure in Zimbabwe's legal landscape, shattering glass ceilings throughout her distinguished career. Her unwavering dedication to justice is interwoven with a series of historic firsts. She is a trailblazer for women in the legal fraternity having ascended the ranks, becoming the first woman to hold the positions of Prosecutor-General and Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission, positions traditionally dominated by men.  Her achievements pave the way for future generations of female legal professionals.

She also brings a broad spectrum of expertise to the NPAZ due to her extensive service in the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, the Attorney-General’s Office (rising to Director of both Civil and Public Prosecutions), and her appointments as Judge of the Labour Court (2009) and the High Court (2013) demonstrate her mastery of diverse legal arenas.

Hon Loyce Matanda-Moyo is a champion against corruption: As the first woman Chairperson of the Land Acquisition Task Force and the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission, she has been a steadfast force against unethical practices. She has also represented Zimbabwe on the global stage in human rights cases underscoring her commitment to justice Her current role as Prosecutor-General and Board Chairperson of the National Prosecuting Authority reflects her unwavering leadership and profound influence in shaping Zimbabwe's legal landscape
