MR REX TAPFUMA SHANA

Mr. Rex Tapfuma Shana was appointed to the National Prosecuting Authority Board in 2023, culminating a distinguished career dedicated to advancing the Zimbabwean legal system. His extensive resume reveals a legal luminary who is a trailblazer in Judicial Education. As the founding principal of the Judicial College of Zimbabwe in 1997, Mr. Shana established the cornerstone for developing legal excellence within the Zimbabwe's judiciary. His leadership at Zambia's Directorate of Legal Aid (1988-1989), along with his formative attachment to the UK's Crown Prosecution Service (1994), highlight international legal experience. Mr. Shana embodies a lifelong commitment to justice as amply demonstrated by how he rose from State Counsel to Acting Prosecutor-General (2019-2020).  His tenure as Acting Deputy Chairman of the Law Development Commission and Law Reviser of Zimbabwe further solidifies his influence on shaping Zimbabwe's legal landscape. Mrs Shana’s multifaceted expertise as Secretary and Examiner for the Council for Legal Education (2003-2013) as well as Deputy Editor in Chief for the Zimbabwe Law Reports (2015 - date) underscore his dedication to legal knowledge and education.
