Mr. Morgan Makina, a seasoned civil servant with over 24 years of experience in public sector finance and administration, was appointed to the National Prosecuting Authority Board in 2023. He is a Registered Public Accountant (PAAB), bringing over 15 years of supervisory and managerial expertise to the role.
Currently leading Zimbabwe's IPSAS Project Implementation Team, Mr. Makina has demonstrated success in managing complex projects. Notable achievements include spearheading the adoption of IPSAS accounting standards and the strategic acquisition of the ZIMRE Centre building for the Zimbabwean government in 2017.
As a core member of the National Taskforce on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing, he played a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of the mining sector. His efforts in the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development resulted in enhanced transparency, accountability, and consistently clean audit reports.
Mr. Makina's commitment to revenue protection is evident from his work with the Inter-Ministerial Taskforce at the Beitbridge Border, where his contributions led to a significant increase in revenue. Additionally, he was a founding member of the Public Service Commission bus initiative, improving transportation options for civil servants.
His prior board memberships at the Zimbabwe School of Mines and Zebakwe Trust further demonstrate his dedication to sound governance. Currently serving as Deputy Accounting-General in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Makina brings a wealth of financial acumen and public service experience to the National Prosecuting Authority Board.
