DR.TARISAI MUTANGI

Dr. Tarisai Mutangi brings a wealth of legal expertise and academic leadership to the National Prosecuting Authority Board. With over 20 years in private practice, he serves as Managing Partner of Donsa-Nkomo & Mutangi Legal Practice, specializing in criminal, constitutional, and commercial law. A seasoned litigator, he has argued before the esteemed African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights in Arusha, Tanzania.

Currently the Head of Legal Postgraduate Studies at the University of Zimbabwe's Faculty of Law, Dr. Mutangi's scholarship focuses on international human rights, access to justice, electoral law, refugee law, and institutional reform. His publications and consulting work in these areas are internationally recognized.

His extensive consulting experience includes advising governments and organizations such as the African Union and European Union on penal reform, institutional transformation, and capacity building for public officials. He has offered his expertise to Zimbabwe's key institutions, including Chapter 12 Institutions, Parliament, the Judicial Service Commission, and the National Prosecuting Authority.

His commitment to public service extends to prior board and commission appointments supporting law and penal reform, transparency, and accountability. These include the South African Law Reform Commission Advisory Board, the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Sale of State Land, and the Presidential Tribunal to Inquire into the Fitness of a ZACC Commissioner. Dr. Mutangi also holds board positions within private companies and the development sector.
